Annual Fire Safety Statement Assessor

The Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 (EP&A Reg.) requires all buildings produce an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS).

The AFSS is a document stating that each and all the fire protection measures on the site be inspected and verified as continuing to perform as they were designed and installed. Inspection and testing forms a part of this verification process, but does not completely satisfy it – particularly since year 2020 where the EP&A regulation has required an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) known as APFS, be engaged to endorse (sign-off) each of the measures on your property.

We are considered leaders and were one of the first companies to have Fire Safety Practitioners formally accredited and unrestricted.

You can find our accreditation listing here.. Click on the arrow next to our APFS’s names to see what measures they are accredited to endorse. If your current fire protection, mechanical services, lift or other essential service provider is not accredited in all measures, get in contact with our APFS team!

We make the complex Annual Fire Safety Statement process easier, so you have less headaches from fire protection.

2020 Fire Protection and/or others may have inspected and tested to AS1851-2012 and determined that these measures exist and work; a Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) – APFS must still attend, audit and verify whether the systems and equipment still perform as per the schedule. E.g. does the system perform and match the current risk.

From July 1st, 2020, the Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) engaged to endorse (sign-off) on each of those Essential Fire Safety Measures must be accredited to endorse that type of measure.

2020 Fire Protection is at the forefront of the accreditation process and has APFS’s ready to endorse the measures at your site.

The process required post July 1st 2020 is significantly more complex than in years past. It will require physical visits to site every year and independent verification of the inspection and testing results.  You can find more about it on the accreditation body’s site here: https://www.fpaa.com.au/Web/Web/Registers/FSA-Register-General.aspx

2020 Fire Protection are leaders in explaining why the fire protection measures perform or don’t, why it requires them and why it’s important to your life and building safety.
